Steve White is a native of Los Angeles where his family worked in the formative "Golden Age" years of the motion picture business: Father Ben White was cinematographer for the famous (infamous?) Cecile B DeMille's epics. Uncle Jules White was best known for the dubious, but still wildly popular, Three Stooges films and grabbed four Oscar nominations for "single reel" comedies. Uncle Sam White was producer/director for films of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Bela " Dracula" Lugosi, and TV's Perry Mason, while Uncle Jack White headed his own silent film studio. Young Steve spent four formative years as a tour guide at Universal Studios and, when not on duty, would sneak on set in the proximity of such luminaries as Sidney Poitier, John Wayne, Betty Davis, Steve McQueen, Paul Newman, Clint Eastwood, Charlton Heston, Julie Andrews, Robert Wagner, Shirley MacLaine, Sammy Davis Jr. and, as they love to say in "The Business" when they are actually just out of material, "Many, many more"
