Serias

I know how you feel, working all day in a furnace reeking of sweat and sulfur to earn a half a handful of chits and come home to a dark room. Individually you or I alone could never do more than complain about working conditions. Or, if we were looking for entertainment, we might sit around with a few friends and play cards. But when has one man or woman's complaint ever accomplished anything? Together we have power. Together, we can fight the apathy of the bourgeois management and their leader, O'Brien. If the workers don't have a voice, then they will remain forever subordinate. But the worker's union offers more than a way to enforce our collective demands. Union meeting halls are always open, and at any time you happen to come by you'll find a hundred like-minded men and women gathered together to enjoy food that has flavor, and games of real chance and daring. Overspend a little? Need a loan? No problem. Union special work services will make it easy for you to work off your debt. At the Worker's Union, we are all working together to take care of each other. Together we have power. Together we have a voice. My name is Serias, and I am the executive president of the Worker's Union. Come by and join us for a better future."
And don't forget, Union halls are the ONLY places gambling for chits is sanctioned. Gambling outside our meeting halls or working independently of Union sanction undermines the Union's authority and hurts your fellow workers! The Union will protect its own."

Opinions on Serias change dramatically according to whom you ask. To some he is the caring and intelligent head of the Worker's Union, a man devoted to the welfare of the common worker and the guy responsible for representing the worker's interests to O'Brien and O'Brien's heads of government. To others, Serias is a ruthless criminal with a history of extortion and violence. What matters is what you chose to believe.
